Our vision is a growing county, supporting a prosperous and stable economy and an abundant quality-of-life for all Reno County citizens.

Community Development is the primary function of the Reno County Growth Coalition. While in a broad sense the Coalition serves to maintain communication and relevant partnerships among all county communities and other leaders, quality-of-life issues, opportunities to attract new residents, and building a foundation of community pride and engagement are among the key objectives of the non-profit organization.

The Coalition was established in 2004 after the Reno County Commissioners adopted a plan titled Blueprint for Growth. The Blueprint for Growth was focused on seven vision areas and outlined strategies for positively impacting the number of residents living in Reno County.

Like any strong organization or business, the Growth Coalition has evolved since 2004, always keeping in focus the founders goal of stopping a negative population decline.


Community Development

Using the matrix defined by Rebecca Ryan of Next Generation Consulting, the Reno County Growth Coalition concentrates on seven areas to measure the strengths and opportunities for our community: Vitality, After Hours, Learning, Earning, Social Capital, Cost of Lifestyle, and Around Town.
